Welcome to Our Family Newsletter: Updates, Inspiration, and More!

Bendiciones!

If you are new here, or if you are a long time follower, let me re-introduce myself: I am Amanda Sellers!

I am a wife to Chris Sellers, a Mother to ten beautiful children, a Certified Lactation Consultant, a Homeschool Teacher, a Content Creator, and most importantly, a Follower of Christ. Most of you have probably stumbled upon us on one of my social pages. There are 1.5 MILLION of you now across all platforms, and that blows my mind every single day! My platforms are dedicated to sharing mostly lifestyle content, but be on the lookout for a huge push in the direction of mitigating pain points in the family environment to improve overall quality of life. Think: tips on how to reduce overwhelm, things we do to strengthen the family unit and keep us all on the same team, and our family of 12's eating/cleaning/homeschooling schedules to inspire a smoothly running home life, which I know you desire.

I want this newsletter to be a place where you can easily find our family’s biggest updates every week, while I get to share some behind-the-scenes glimpses of our daily lives, and where I can get to know you all on a more personal level. From the bottom of my heart, welcome, and thank you for being here!

You probably already know by now, but some of the links included in my newsletters are affiliate links. This means I earn a commission for sharing them with you, at no cost to you! I can’t stress enough how important it is to me that I do not influence you to buy things you never planned to buy. I only want to help you out with things you may already be looking for or help you find deals on things you may need in the future!

Weekly Update:

Guest Speaker on a PODCAST

This week has been an absolute whirlwind and a fun one to share about first! Midweek, I was a guest on the podcast 'The Journey To Motherhood' with host Candace Richards. I recounted all of my birth stories in one sitting, including my experiences with cesareans, repeat cesareans, natural unmedicated hospital birth of my second set of twins, illegal homebirth, third twin pregnancy turned singleton homebirth, and even my most recent homebirth in 2023! I plan to post a full video of it, but you can catch a listen on Spotify: Amanda Sellers | Mom of 10

Out of State Coference

At the end of last week, I attended the Mom 2.0 Summit Influencer Conference in Nashville, TN. Though I have never gone away for a weekend, my wonderful husband was 100% on board with talking me into leaving my ten kids, including a nursing baby, to pursue an amazing opportunity. I was less-than-on board, but I followed his lead and jumped in head first! After an 8+ hour drive across one of the longest states in the east, I settled into the beautiful JW Marriott Hotel and promptly googled 'why do people attend conferences'. This should give you a sense of how unprepared I felt to be in the place God had put me. Here's what I learned:

  • Networking: Making connections with people of various experience levels.

  • Education: Exposure to many up-and-coming events, technologies, etc. in your line of work.

  • Collaboration: An opportunity to assess overlap that may benefit from collaborative work, and a time to establish yourself as an expert in your field.

With these ideas in mind, I spent the entire event being an absolute social butterfly and information sponge, knowing I likely would not get many chances like this again. It wasn’t difficult to do, as I love people and am naturally curious and inquisitive anyway. The trip was invaluable. I am laughing as I type that word because my husband and I always joke that the word 'invaluable' sounds like it means 'useless', so we usually use it facetiously. In this case, it is the most accurate word I can think of.

A run-down of what a social media influencer conference looks like for a newbie... Basically, it’s the summer college orientation of an expensive school. There’s food, a schedule, returning students to keep you from getting lost, seniors to teach you the ins and outs of the campus and the best classes to take (and which to avoid!). Also, include selfie sticks, brand reps, aesthetically pleasing photo booths, and hashtags. Don’t forget the hashtags.

Here you can watch my #Nashvillerecap.

Also worth mentioning, I WON A PLAYSTATION 5! I took some time to hang out in the game lounge getting to learn all about some awesome brands like ESRB, ESA Games, Ubisoft, and more. They sent me home with a boat load of MineCraft stickers and a free Nintendo game for the kids, and entered me to win some awesome prizes. On the drive home, I got a text that I was the winner of the PS5. So very exciting, but what I think would be really fun is, to give it away to one of my followers! I’m not sure exactly how I plan to do that yet, but know that is in the works!

Home Sweet Home

I returned safe and sound to my favorite people in the world, and spent a few days adoring them and relaying to my husband every last detail of the event. The resources we acquired are going to be absolutely game changing. The connections proved to be good and profitable as well, as my inbox is full of some amazing brand work opportunities (that I can’t wait to share with you!) and even more amazing people.

Things were held down perfectly here on the home front, with only one worth mentioning incident. My three year old daughter chopped off all of the hair on the left side of her head. She cut it evenly and proportionately. Think: edgy, blonde, undercut. Anyway, when I asked her about it, she said, “I don’t like when my hair touches my ears,” and I can not be upset, because honestly, same. I feel like cutting off all my hair sometimes too. We will just be investing in some hair accessories like these until it grows out. My sweet baby, was quite clingy as expected when I got home, and it hurt my mommy heart, but I resolved that the entire family will just have to travel with me from this point on. Period.

Celebrating Birthdays

We also celebrated the love of my life turning 35 this week. Chris opened about 100 homemade cards from our children, we prayed over our family and future together, and we ate cheese cake.

The Good Stuff:

My dad sent over a verse this morning while I was in the middle of pouring out the ins and outs of my week. Stopping in the middle of my work to hear God’s word was good for my soul and I would love for you to hear it too:

Psalms 8. Yep, the whole chapter. It’s only nine verses, but the reminder of God’s goodness and provision has been the resounding theme of the entire week. God’s resources are not limited, and his love for us knows no end.

Our Favorite Content of the week:

I know everyone has been buzzing about the Solar eclipse that happened, but we completely missed it! The cloud coverage was too heavy during totality. We were a little disappointed, but it inspired a funny video idea on the matter.

Eclipse 2024 Reenactment 🤣

This video caught my attention this week as well. It is also about the eclipse…while not at ALL about the eclipse. Anyway, I have watched it several times and it makes me laugh, so here it is:

He is Alive and Well-Plot twist, the zoo did not claim him!

A little give, a little take:

My give this week, is this recipe my husband makes that we absolutely love!

My Favorite Pork Chop Dinner

The actual title of the recipe (you will see what I mean) is aptly named. So good. Pair it with some homemade mashed potatoes and vegetables with pork chop gravy. Chef’s kiss.

My take this week is that I ask you to jump over to whichever social site is your favorite and you follow my page! I would really love if you take a second to say, “Hi” and let me know you made it over from my Newsletter!
